Tweet of the Day: Amazing.
Yes.
Goddamn, 1970’s Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro. LIKE A SCREEN DOOR IN A HURRICANE.

The Reichenbach Fall is the best 90 minutes of television I’ve seen since probably ever.
(this is not really a spoiler, it’s in the first ten minutes) (aaahhhhh!!!!!)
THE. BEST.
Last night, for some reason, I decided I should have a poke around Etsy. 24 hours later, I have a gigantic wish list and have already purchased this amazeballs print! I cannot wait to have my own place to do with what I want and to splash the walls in beautiful art creations. You can never have too much art!

I will leave it to my colleagues and every reader of this letter to decide what poses a greater threat to “a safe and inviting space for all our students” or “a safe, welcoming environment” at UC Davis: 1) Setting up tents on the quad in solidarity with faculty and students brutalized by police at UC Berkeley? or 2) Sending in riot police to disperse students with batons, pepper-spray, and tear-gas guns, while those students sit peacefully on the ground with their arms linked? Is this what you have in mind when you refer to creating “a safe and inviting space?” Is this what you have in mind when you express commitment to “a safe, welcoming environment?”

Heartwarming Tearjerker of the Day: In honor of Veterans Day Weekend and Military Appreciation Month, the Boston Bruins invite the parents of Lt. Charles Jacobs, currently serving his country in Afghanistan with the 182nd Infantry, to perform the ceremonial puck drop.
I won’t ruin what happens next, but, suffice it to say, I didn’t call this “Heartwarming Tearjerker of the Day” for nothing.

Why do I always try to plan out the rest of my life in the middle of the night? I just decided an hour ago that I want to apply to a MA in Counseling program. So I started to fill out my application, and then saw that I need to take the MAT or the GRE. Cue surfing the web about the MAT for the past hour and finding practice problems to study. It’s almost 1 in the morning, and I’ve had a pretty long day. Why do I always do this?!
Oh, p.s. update: I’m now working with autistic children in the mornings, and underprivileged youth in the afternoons. It’s fun and exciting, but sooooo exhausting. I can’t figure out if I’m saving all the money I’m making to go towards grad school, or for awesome travels in the not too distant future. Life after college ain’t so bad!
